Knowle Weekly Update |
||
Hello, This week we have again been out with our volunteers conducting Community Speedwatch’s resulting in 11 vehicles getting a warning letter about their excessive use of speed. We noticed a few occasions during the Speedwatch of vehicles passing a few horse riders too closely. Just as a reminder, when passing horses on the road leave a large enough gap and drive slowly, not creating too much noise to spook them.
What crime has happened in the last 9 Days?
Crime prevention advice: With opportunists always in the area, make sure to keep an eye on insecure vehicles on driveways. I understand when you have a work van full of tools you tend to go back and forth a lot, leaving it insecure. Just be mindful that offenders can be anywhere and quickly steal tools and the like out of the back. If you own a motorbike, be aware that these are being targeted at the moment. We have seen a few occasions around Solihull that motorbikes are being stolen and then used as a “get away” vehicle when committing more robberies for motorbikes and push bikes. CCTV is a really useful tool for us to use in investigations as it allows us to see the offence happening, any offenders and what they are wearing or a direction of travel in their escape. If you haven’t already, sign up to our CCTV registry to receive alerts when your footage may help us with incidents in your area - CCTV Registry | West Midlands Police
